(Currently reading) Tony Robbins "Awaken the Giant Within"

Today's reading, there was a topic of discussion on Pain and Pleasure that really got me inspired. I even made an inspirational meme and I thought I would share. (bottom of the post) I'm excited to go through the rest of the book.

Today's takeaway on Pleasure and Pain:

We can't expect to reap ALL the rewards of what we value by only doing the parts we like to do. We only get half the value for half the work and that ain't even the good half. We must raise our standards and accept nothing less than a whole. We are only cheating only ourselves. We must break through the short-term painful part to really enjoy the long-term pleasure, and that's where the full reward lies (the best part).

Example Working out - You want a great body, you have to sculpt that body. Temporary pain for long-term pleasure…

If you don’t like doing it, do it! Sooner or later you WILL like doing it. We must condition our neurological receptors. Don’t let the pains of what you value deter you from reaching your goals.
